The Ultimate Creative Mix (STEAM Arts Magnet)


Elective Description

Poetry is the hub of this interdisciplinary STEAM workshop, connecting art, music, design, and creative problem-solving. Students write original poems inspired by music/sound patterns, visual design, rhythm, and multimedia art while exploring how structure, pattern, and emotion work across disciplines. Through hands-on projects and creative experiments, students learn to think like artists, designers, and innovators—using poetry as both expression and exploration.


Goals :


STEAM Learning Connections (Student Outcomes)

Students will:

  • Apply pattern recognition and systems thinking to poetry and art

  • Explore the relationship between sound, design, and meaning

  • Use creative inquiry and experimentation across disciplines

  • Practice iteration, revision, and reflection as part of the creative process

Waldo School - Jersey City Private School for Infants to 8th Grade.
